    SOKS December, special guest.

I've just received word that our esteemed president of the Virginia chapter of SOKS... Sorry I couldn't say that with a straight face. Anyhoo, Dee (Starbkjrus) will be in Windsor the week of Christmas. Let's have a get-together in his honour a some point that week. Suggestions please for a good locale seeings that Dee would still need to drive east. And Dee please feel free to stop by Keswick (VA not ON) to pick up a Sissy Spacek momento, or Sissy Spacek herself, for a certain SOKS member .

Very cool, he did not even let me know, I'd even try to get to Windsor itself, so really anywhere between here and Windsor is fine with me.

Yep, I was reading the latest SOKS thread and thinking I needed to start this thread when Grant PM'd me about when we were coming up. We'll be in Windsor for 8 days or so and a kilt night (and a night spent out of town in a hotel) will be a nice diversion from family, turkey and meat pies.

Then again if we held one nearer Windsor we could have a combined Michigan-Ontario shindig.

It's a busy family time, but throw out a date/location, and we'll see what happens.

I should be working days that week, so most of my nights should be free.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

I'm interested. I used to live in Reston Virginia, and parked my Cessna at Manassas airfield, so I would love to compare notes.

    Cheers

I'd love to do London or Stratford (I bet Robert would like that one!) but those get to be a pretty long haul from Grand Island and Niagara Falls. I don't know anything else between those and the lake.

Hamilton is a pretty straight shot via the 401 and 403 so that might work. What kind of hotel can you get in a city you guys call "The Hammer" though? Oakville might work as well as it's not too much further.

I figure the hotels would be cheaper than in Toronto proper.

The weekend before New Years would work well but Glen works weekends so that's out. I'm thinking maybe Wed the 26th or Thur the 27th? What say you all?

Either one would work for me, Here is a link to the Sheraton Hotel in Hamilton.
