| | | Trip to Minneapolis
Jerry (oops had Rocky) and other Minnesotans. I've got a class in Minneapolis on the 22-23 September. I'm arriving on Thursday 21st and leaving Sunday 24th. If anyone is up for a dinner or drink, please let me know. Also if anything is happening around that time let me know as the Corporate travel people haven't finalized my flights yet. O'Neille

I am unfortunately not in much of a position to pursue outside social activities, we have a one-year old in the house.
There are two Pubs in Minneapolis that have kilt nights (Keegan's and Kieran's), but I'm not much of a pub guy and I've never been to either (I'm one of those wierdos that dislikes beer and scotch, I prefer gin) I hear from very reliable sources that they are both good places.
Feel free to call when you arrive if you need any directions/local advice/whatever.

Any recommendations for a kilted night out in Minneapolis. My new rep out there is a lady who was an undergraduate student of mine, when I was teaching at U of Arizona. I told her I'd find a place for her to take us out to dinner and drinks. So I'm asking all of you learned folks for recommendations and inviting those in the area to join us. O'Neille

O'Neille | Kieran's and Brits are both downtown; haven't been to either but they both come recommended by folks I know...

Brits and Kieran's have both been mentioned, and are good choices for food, drinks, and kilt-friendliness. The Local is another good place downtown. Irish pub, good food, kilt friendly.
The problem I see here, though, is that there are just too many options. The Cities are an awful large place, and a surprisingly kilt-friendly one. If you could narrow down where in the Cities you're going to be, it might be easier to narrow down a good dinner place.
For instance, it's quite a quick trip into downtown from the U, but it would be even easier to zip over to Keegan's, which has some pretty decent food and a regular kilt night.

The Gin and Tonic is the world's most perfect drink. It tastes of civilization!
Good on You.
Cheers

Well it looks like I'll be in Minneapolis on Thursday the 21 st. I will be staying at the Marriott Southwest, 5801 Opus Pkwy. Minnetonka Minnesota. There is a reception that evening that shouldn't last too long. After that would be a good time to head out to a pub. If anyone is up for it just PM me. Unfortunately I'm booked with a formal dinner on Friday and another Dinner on Saturday. O'Neille
