    Another New Guy

    Hi Folks,
I'm new to this kilt game. I'm staring with an Rkilt from Robert Pel. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a mongrel as far as heritage goes. My Mum's from the Cotswolds, in the U.K. and my Dad's an Irish/Canadian but my great grandmother was a Colqhoun so the whole family claims to belong to the Colquhoun clan. A pretty thin claim I know. I guess everyone wants to be a little Scottish at the highland games and a little bit Irish on St.Patricks day. So I'm going to be a kilt wearer and I can use all the support I can get.

from Chicago. If we're talking about thin, in one of my Scots lines my 4th great grandmother emigrated with her family from Skye in 1802 when she was 14. In another line, two Gordon 6th great-grandfathers emigrated from County Down in1738 (their great-grandfather was from Morayshire). A 4th great-grandfather came from Renfrewshire in 1763. And finally an 8th great-grandfather came from Clackmanshire in 1659. So it's kind of a thin trickle.
