    German Scotsman

Hey everybody. I have been reading posts here for a while now and decided I should probably join.

Well, I recently discovered one link in my family line that comes from Scotland. So I started doing research, and got hooked.

I used to tell everybody "I'm German!" but find myself now mentioning my Scottish history more often.

    Hopefully I'll be kilted soon!

    Anyway, hello to all.

Edit: I guess I should mention that I live in Texas. Born in Wisconsin, moved all over and finally settled here (for now - soon to be USAF - we'll see where they send me..)

Welcome from the Southeastern U.S. Remember you do not have to be Scottish to be comfortable in a kilt.

Well, I started looking because of my fiance. She's really into her Scottish heritage and it's always been a big part of her family's life. We decided we want to do handfasting at our wedding. So naturally, I needed to find out if I had a tartan, or if we would claim one of her's. Also being with her, we've been going to many a Scottish festival and other activities. It just seems like it would be more fun in proper garb. I can't imagine what they'd be like without the proper beverages (ale, whiskey, etc.) so I imagine it's quite similar to being un-kilted.
