Re: Good day to all!
Thanks to all! You are a very welcoming bunch.
But still... any specific tartan suggestion? Anything that might reflect the old alliance between Portugal and Britain?
I've been searching and the only tartans that I might feel symbolicaly "right" are the Black Watch and the Stewart Hunting. But then again... these are very much "default" tartans, right? And I would like to avoid choosing a clan tartan just because I like the colours and then read up on the history so that I might know the tartan...
I'm looking for some sort of connection.
Of course, I could design my own tartan. But that would become rather dear...
Plus, do you think that a polyviscose kilt might be a good option? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money. But again, a wool tartan would be a better investment and look better as well... Oh, so many questions!

I'm a firm believer in wool, heavyweight wool, the heavier the bette first, last, and foremost, summer or winter. If you want to save a nickel though, consider a semi-traditional or an ultra-traditional box-pleat. Some of our kiltmakers listed on the site give a better price because there is less cloth used, but be cautious, at least one quoted me extra because it was a less usual concept.

Welcome from Northern Ireland. I have learnt a few things about Portugal's history from this thread. A most beautiful country.
I hope you are pleased with whatever kilt you select.

Anyone can wear a kilt. As A footwear commercial once said, "just do it"

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
