    greetings from alabama!!!

Greetings fellow kiltophiles!!! I am Ryan Morrison of Birmingham, Alabama, AKA the "Birmingham Bagpiper," Pipe Major and Director of the Heritage Pipes & Drums, just dropping in to introduce myself. I was referred here by a new friend on Tribe.net, where I just recently created a tribe for my pipe band. I currently wear the kilt of the band in the red Cameron tartan until I purchase a new kilt in my own tartan, Morrison. I do also own a pre-1740's style 4-yard box pleat made by Bob Martin in the Morrison red tartan, woven by Peter MacDonald. If any of you are interested, please visit my band website at hpd-pipeband.org and my personal website at birminghambagpiper.com. My band's tribe site is hpd-pipeband.tribe.net. I am looking forward to participating around here! Cheers! -- Ry

Welcom aboard from one Alabaman to another.

BTW folks, if that is the same pipe band I saw perform when I lived in Birmingham in the mis-80's, they are terriffic.

    Thanks!

WOW! Thanks everyone for the FAILTE!!! Even better than the one-hundred thousand bit! And thanks so much Doc for the compliments on the band. Seeing as we were the only one at the time, it was most certainly us, though in a slightly different manifestation, the Ben Dearg (Red Mountain) Pipe Band. The Pipe Major at the time was the first piper in the state Iain Sturrock. He is now passed on, but his pipes are soon to sing again. Having long hidden in a closet, they were recently put under my care to refurbish. I opened the case to behold nothing other than an antique set of old Hendersons!!! They will soon sound once more! Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you all! All the best! Cheers! -- Ry
