Greetings from central Florida

Hi All,

I am new to this website, but I have worn a traditional 8-yard kilt for about 6 years. I was a bagpiper in a local Scottish Pipe and Drum band. I had to quit the band when I started a new job.

A traditional wool kilt is way too hot to wear most of the time here in Florida, so I am going to try a modern kilt made of a light to medium weight fabric. Also, I really like the idea of a kilt with pants-type pockets!

Hi Bill, and WELCOME!

Glad that you showed up here. It is nice to here about kilted gents all over the place, especially since I have a friend who I almost got kilted till his job is moving him to Polk County. So now he has no excuse to give about not being kilted.

Sounds like you have really enjoy your kilting, looking forward to hearing about your tales of kilting!

Florida invasion...

There seems to be an invasion of Floridians here as of late! ;)

We're glad to have you, Bill -- how far are you from Crystal River? My father-in-law lives there, and my wife used to live in Ft. Lauderdale (named after a Scot!)

Cheers,

Todd

Todd,

I don't know where Crystal River is. I live about 20 miles from Daytona Beach.
