    Greetings from Indianapolis

I am from Indiana, but lived in Scotland (Edinburgh and Glasgow) for almost 5 years. I was married in a great kilt. I joined the site, becasue I want to help with the kilt-wearing movement. I have the material from the kilt I was married in, but have no idea how to put it on now (I was helped when I got married). I'm not handy with fabric, and need help getting started. any suggestions would be appreciated. I'd like to keep it traditional.

from coastal North Carolina. Don't know the answer to your question, but try a search of the forums. You will be surprised at what you may find.

Marlivin, hello and welcome from Houston, TX! I get to wear a great kilt maybe once or twice a year, and each time I have to refresh my memory on which line to begin pleating. There are a number of sites as the one above, that can give excellent instruction on hand-pleating; so, I'll leave it there, with the exception that I prefer to pleat while the kilt is spread on the top of my bed. It's easier on my back that way.
