    Greetings from Maine

Hi everyone! New here, so I'm stopping by to introduce myself. I've lived in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont all my life. I'm looking for my first tartan kilt, but I already have a hiking one made by Mountain Hardware. Looking for something I can wear hiking, to festivals/Highland Games, and to my local Irish pub at times. I have Scottish roots from my Dad's side, but I can't pin down a family tartan, so I will most likely go with the Black Watch.

I majored in History in college with a concentration on Great Britain, so Scottish history and culture is dear to my heart. My wife and I are still waiting to take our first trip to Scotland, and hopefully it will happen within the next couple of years. Thanks for a great site! I've learned a lot already.

Nothing beats hiking in a MUG, Welcome.

So many choices eh? There are plenty of ideas and back up information here on the kiltmaker's sites and gallaries as well as the old threads.

    Enjoy.

Dude! It will be nice to get your cold-weather and high-wind perspective around here!

Everytime we travel up that way, I just PRAY that I'm doing an indoor event! That includes July and August!

    Welcome to the site.
