    Smile Greetings from Memphis

I first found this forum while looking for a definitive answer on whether BSA Scouts may wear a kilt as part of their Class A uniform.

I am a Scot on both sides of my family (on my father's side, though my paternal grandmother). I first wore a borrowed kilt, while co-hosting a Scottish dinner in Chicago, and now I own 3 of my own: my mother's family (Wilson of clan Gunn), black watch, and a MacLaren kilt for Scouting events.

Thanks. By the way, I was born in Seattle and grew up in Tacoma.

The balmoral in my avatar was Photoshopped in by a friend of mine. Here's what my balmoral actually looks like. I like the white cockade, too, but mine is black, with only two bows, not four.

Welcom aboard. We've had quite a few from your locale, and I trust you will enjoy being here.

Used to live in the Frasier area myself in the 60s. . .

but that was in another country, and besides, the wench is dead.
