An Halloo from Maine
Scotsmen All, Greetings;
It appears that I have been posting, and ect, with out an Introduction of any sort, to the Readers of this Forum. Let me correct that, briefly, with this Letter.
This writer is Mr.(Squire) Charles Anthony, of Maine, and by lineage a Shaw of Scotland. I came on the Kilt Interest by indirection. I am presently a Member of the Re-created 74th Regt. Argyle Highlanders,1775-1783. By neccesity, that brought me to the History and the constructions, of the'filbeg', or the kilt as the 21st Centy understands it. There is of course the Belted Plaid(Ploid) or Great Kilt, which is little worn today, aside from Scots Festivals. As all of the modern kilts and accesory devolved or perhaps evolved, from the earlier origins: I am, perhaps, in a better way to understand some of the Problems encountered by thoes not acquainted with the History of the Kilt. I am an Historical Tailor,(winner of juried shows, the details not revelant here), and create most of the fabrick items I use. I am 'at sea' with knitting needles, however!
This is a good formatte for Information and skill shareing; I look forward to a long and serviceable association.
Trust to God, But Row for Shore
Squire Charles Anthony

Where in Maine are you?
I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious! --- Vince Lombardi
