    Hello from CNY !

    Good People,
Hello from the "highlands and valleys" of Central New York (20 miles south of Barb T).

I've been lerkin' and learnin' on here since early last year,... when my Scots girlfriend bought me my first kilt (Irish National )and talked me into (took all of two seconds) going out and drinking single malt Scotch, eating haggis, fin & haddy, and steak and kidny pie at a Burns weekend festival at a local Scottish inn. Yes, we have one near here and it's wonderful.

And, I survived all that while wearing a kilt !!!!

Now that we're hooked, we got her a skirt and sash in her family tartan, plus me a kilt in one of my family tartans and we headed back to that inn for a Burns weekend festival this past January.

So,........ now I thought it time to say Hello,... from an Irish/Scot/English/Welch man

I see there's no spell check on here so I'll "opoligizes' now,..... 'cause spelling is the least of whatever skills the good Lord gave me !

20 miles south! That's practically next door. And you got even more snow than we did yesterday (22" for us!).

Thank you all for the welcome.

Yes Barb, 24 inches of wet snow here. Had to use my snow shoes to get out to the bird feeders this morning ! First time I've needed them in over 15 years !

Had hoped to hear your Pipe band here Sunday. Considering all the wind and rain we got, it's a good thing they cancelled, or we'd be pulling 'em out of the river !
