    Hello from Idaho

    Hello all!

I am currently kiltless but that is going to change soon...

I've recently been tracing my family history and it would seem as though I may have some Scot blood in me. Unfortunately having the hugely common last name of Wilson makes this a pretty big challenge. So far I've gotten to my great, great, great grandfather George Francis Wilson who was born in New York around 1830. He had listed his father's birthplace as Scotland and his mother's as England but no names were listed. That is where I'm stuck and I'm not too sure how much further I'll be able to get with any degree of accuracy. I'm hoping that some of my extended may be able to fill in the blanks for me. Just waiting on some replies...

welcome. If you are kiltless I'd suggest either staying home or wearing pants;^)
I googled the last names I had and found some really good sites listing them their parents and some diary entrees for their son that got me another 100 years back. It may be I was just lucky but who knows.

No matter what country you go to you will more than likely find a Scots descendant. Welcome and enjoy the forum.
