Hello from MD

Greetings, all,

New kilt guy. Got married in one this summer and discovered the joy of kilts. I now have two, with one on order. One question. As I surf through the board, I come across the term "tank." Can someone enlighten me, please.

Thanks!

Greetings and "tank" refers to an eight yard, 16 oz, wool traditional kilt.

A tank is a traditional 8 yard knife pleated kilt made from 16 oz tartan material.

Hello ans Welcome from Texas! The term "tank" was coined by Jimmy Carbomb and refers to an 8 yd knife pleat, handsewn 16oz or better kilt, and it refers to the fact that they are literally indestructable, and will last many lifetimes.
