Hello from a part-time kilted newbie!
Hi - great forum, lots of information. I'm owner of three kilts, blue cord Utilikilt, Garrison Sportkilt and my newest addition a BW Stillwater.
Mostly a "gone camping" or playing gigs attire for me. Not Scottish, just love the look and comfort.
I was Drum Major for our High School "The Highlanders" some 20+ years ago so I got to wear the whole ensemble (Kilt, jacket, sash, hose w/spats {are spats Scottish?}, a very cool sterling broach and sword pin, HUGELY TALL ostrich hat with long ostrich streamers {does that kind of hat have a name?}, etc... Henderson tartan.) Very nice stuff as I recall. All bought by the school when they opened in the early 40's. Not custom tailored to me of course but all made in Scottland - what you guys would refer to as "tank gear"
Nowadays I just do the casusal kilt/t-shirt thing... No real extras.
So once again, great forum - I'm pretty good at searching, I'll try not to ask stuff that's been answered time and again!
