Hi from NW Ohio
Hello gentlemen, Mike here from Toledo Ohio. Just found out about kilts on a trip to Sault Ste Marie Michigan, where I met a guy wearing a Utilikilt. Needless to say I looked it up on the net when I got home and decided that I had to try it. I ended up ordering two, 1 from AmeriKilt and 1 from AltKilt. I'm just over largest size for UK.
My surname is Shaw, which the net lists as being Scottish/English but the geneaology has not been done to prove that connection.
I got my black Amerikilt a couple days ago, decided to go for broke and immediately made for the ATM at the gas station around the corner. The first woman that seen me gave me a compliment and we talked about it a few minutes, which stroked my ego a bit. Of course I went to the WalMart across the street and got pointed and laughed at like I was a sideshow freak by this woman and her daughter.
I enjoyed it enough that i'll keep wearing them out on occasion and around the house. As for the people that laugh I say," You can't fix stupid."
Anybody else in the Toledo area wear a kilt in public?
