    Howdy From Austin

Hello all. I am Jorge from Austin Texas. I had always gone about my life describing myself as a "mutt". Now I am starting to lean towards my Scottish heritage as one I can fully subscribe to. My Mother always told me that I had more Scottish blood than anything else. That statement fell on deaf ears. Of course if I had actually stopped and thought about it, it would have made sense. My grandmother on my Mother's side was a Scottish immigrant and my Father, who is Venezuelan, had a Grandparent who was a Scottish immigrant.
Anyhoo, during a visit to Scotland that my Mother took, she got me a full dress kilt kit done in the ancestry's Murray tartan. I must admit it gathered dust until a dear friend coaxed me into wearing it for the beginning of Tartan Week in NYC. I had a great time and I am hooked. I look forward to further adventures, kilts, and kilted friends.
    Cheers
