I suppose I should introduce myself properly.

I've actually been around here a year or so. I've mostly been reading and absorbing information, though I have made a few posts here and there. I also solicited advice for my prom outfit.

Well, basically, I am a young man from Southern California, USA. I will be entering the University of La Verne this September. I will be working towards a BA in Liberal Arts, and perhaps also a BS in Computer Science (so I can get a job). After my undergraduate studies, I plan to enter seminary (probably St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York) and seek ordination to the priesthood.

I became interested in kilts about a year ago, when my English class teacher assigned me to do a power point on Robert Burns. From there, it was only a matter of time until I fell down the slippery slope.

I am an anomaly amongst other young people today, at least those whom I have observed. Among other things, I believe in chivalry, I advocate the use of reason and logic in debates, I prefer classical music to that… stuff… they call "music" that's pumped out these days, I actually believe what I say I believe, and I act in accordance with my beliefs (I try, anyway; hey, nobody's perfect!).

I am, I suppose, what you would call a geek. I have lots of knowledge, mostly the type that is useless in terms of everyday use. A bit of an academic, really. I also have a very large appreciation of Star Trek, Star Wars, Douglas Adams, J. R. R. Tolkein, C. S. Lewis, Peter Kreeft, and G. K. Chesterton, among others. I also immensely enjoy Monty Python, Rowan Atkinson, and other such comedians.

I refrain from talking about politics. I have my views, but I don't discuss them.

As far as any Celtic ancestry, my dad's mom is Irish, probably with some Scots as well, but my dad was adopted, and that's all we know about his biological mother.

    That's about it.
