    An Idaho Spud...

I've already made a few posts - but thought I might make it official - so here goes. My interest in kilts stretches back a decade or more as I watched and listened to a bagpiping summer camp (now, sadly gone) at the college where I teach. The pipers and drummers always capped off their stay by marching in Coeur d Alene's 4th of July parade. I always found the music and the rows of kilted pipers brought a lump to my throat. Corny but true.

Recently, I decided it was time, so I ordered a Stillwater McLeod Hunting - got the size wrong - returned it - and I'm now waiting for the replacement to show up in the mail. Needless to say, asking a few questions here before ordering could have made my life a little easier. I don't think I'll make that mistake twice! I still need hose, a sporran, and a belt - so I suspect there will be more questions before I'm done.

I live and teach here in Coeur d Alene, Idaho - about an hour or so south of the Canadian border and half an hour east of Spokane, Wa. Its a beautiful part of the country filled with hills and lakes. I can't wait to stroll through it all in a kilt!

I have allways wanted to visit up there, got as far as Stanley last Year thru Sunvalley. Camped just north of there and rode Mt. Bikes in the Sawthooths. Nice Country.

Everone here has been real helpful of any questions I have had.

    Thumbs up Welcome from Spokane

Welcome to the list. I live in Spokane and wear a kilt frequently. I also teach at the Community Colleges of Spokane. This is a wonderful list to be on. Every few days I learn some new thing. If you wish, get in touch with me by email.

Welcome! I passed through there a few years back. Beautiful country up there. Is the "Dew Drop Inn" still there?

Dew Drop Inn - gone along with the Fish Inn - a grand piece of 50's architecture covered in scales - you entered through the mouth to order a cold one.
