    Hello everyone - new here

    Hello,
I'm new to the group and wearing the kilt. First time was last weekend at the Wisconsin Bristol Renaissance Faire. What a great first experience. Got the kilt from Sportkilt for less than $100 - very well made and great for a beginner. Would love to throw out all my pants and replace with kilts. Sent pic to x-wife and she wasn't too happy about my 'fashion statment' - is this common that women like to wear pants but don't like for men to wear kilts? I did have a few good coments at the faire, from ladies, but we may have been of like mine sets.
Your true friend know you well, but love you anyway.

Welcome Firedaddy! I wore my kilt to the family Thanksgiving dinner last year and got the same business from my sister. She started jawing about me wearing a kilt and I pointed out the fact that...uh...she was wearing pants so what's the difference? Didn't change her outlook but she couldn't argue with me.

Welcome to the group, look forward to hearing from you. As one who has a current and and ex-wife, the reason you care what the ex thinks is what...??? What you think is what matters and the fair faire lassies shall come. Cheers.

Good to have you here. Who cares what the ex thinks? Find yourself a lass that likes the kilt. It shouldn't be too hard. ;)

I wouldn't call it common but it does pop up now and then. Most people I've encountered who don't like the kilt have had issues of their own about being seen with someone wearing a kilt, and therefore can pretty much be ignored. Now, if that were your CURRENT wife, then you'd have some work to do, and I'd suggest reading this thread:

Alan H's comments struck me as particularly poignant.
