Introduction
Hello, my name is Todd Carter, but that will be changing in short order. I was given the name Carter by my step father at age six. Since I have no real ties to the name, or him, I intend to reclaim my patronymic surname Albert, as well as my matronymic Johnston/e roots. This brings me to my first kilt, which I am currently in the process of selecting, with the expert guidence of the fine Mr. Newsome. I will be commissioning a Johnstone tartan from him by which I intend to honor my mother and grandfather at my wedding next year. I'm not sure how to begin a new paragraph here, so my apologies for the format. I might as well tell ya up front, that I am completely sightless, it will have to be said sooner or later, might as well be now. I've been blind for about 20+ years but not all my life. So while I don't get to see all the pictures I still have a deep appreciation for colors, art, and many aspects of sighted phenomena. On that note, I'd like to say that I have already benefitted from my time spent here lurking in the shadows as it were, and am honored to finally be introducing myself as a member, all be it an unkilted virgin. I look forward to future interactions, and especially to becoming kilted.

Welcome from Heidelberg, Germany! Are you planning on wearing your kilt on a regular basis or just mainly at your wedding?

I can definitely see myself wearing a kilt more than for just special occasions. This has just brought me to it. I'm thinking about my second kilt already, and I don't even have the first yet. I think my second one will be geared toward hiking, and third probably more every day and... Oh dear where does it end? Heh, time will tell I guess.
