Kentucky Tartan/Kilt - Need One - Want One
Hello Friends,
Well as you saw I am BRAND NEW here (as in like the last 15 minutes) but I have always wanted a Kilt, but want to do it "right" and find one I can REALLY get excited about.
Well I have found that there is an OFFICIAL Kentucky Tartan!
Here's the rub, according to the guys from the Kentucky United Pipe band out of Lexington that wear them they can only get the material and kilts made when there is a minimum of 8 of them ordered.
Has anyone A. found the Kentucky Tartan somewhere else already or B. If I can find out where they had it made would there be enough people who want to order it and get a "batch"? Would be willing to help head up the effort.
All the best,
Shawn

Send a private message to M.A.C. Newsome or Barb T. Either one may be able to order as little as 4 yards for a kilt.

Thank You
Thank you Sir,
Mr. Newsome already kindly sent me some great information and it looks like he is definitely both knowledgeable and totally capable of working on this for me.
Will keep you posted on my efforts!
Cheers,

I'd cast a wide net and see if there are any kiltmakers who might have that tartan on hand. Just because I see that they handle the CSA tartan, I'd make an enquiry to Alexis Malcolm as well.

I like it. And since my family are recently from the Bluegrass State, I could wear that one.

That's the band that's nice enough to have my clumsy fingers along while I'm learning the pipes. I've had some others ask about when they might be reordering and asked around. When I hear that they might I'll raise the flag here and PM those that I can.
