    Kilt Pleats?

    i've been reading (a wee while ago) on here that there 2 different type you can have for your kilt, i think it's to the sett or the stripe?, is there a guide on here for me to look at


    PS, i'm not meaning knife & box pleat

    There have been pictures posted showing a comparison but I'm unable to find them now. I googled these images that explain the appearnace pretty well

    To over simplify this. Pleated to sett looks just like there are no pleats at all. Pleated to stripe emphasizes one or in some cases a few of the colors of the tartan in each pleat.

    Each tartan has a wide variety of pleating options. One for sett, and several for stripe.

    you're forgetting the favorite pleating arrangement of all. It's present at the vendors of all the highland games: pleating to random!

    No, I didn't forget them - I just don't like to think about them. I have two of those hated things, but they don't leave the house unless it's to take out the garbage....
