    Kilt Wedding Dilemma

    Hey everyone,

I was really excited when I found your website and threads on-line and hope that this community will have the answer to my problem.

I'm a current serving member with the RCMP and have been trying to locate 2 more RCMP Tartan Kilts for my upcoming wedding in August 20th, 2011 to either borrow, rent or buy from someone.

Both members are about 6' 2" 200lbs and waiste size 33/34

Anyone that could help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bobby.

I believe that tartan is woven by Lochcarron although it may not be regularly stocked. I suggest you check with Burnetts & Struth (ad banner above) to see if they can help you. They are the Lochcarron Canada dealer.

Welcome to XMTS, Bobby! You could also get in touch with the band manager of the nearest RCMP pipe band and see if they could help you out. I think there are several such bands across the country. I'd bet that's where you'd find the most RCMP tartan kilts in one place!
Let us know how it works out and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I agree with Macman, you probably don't have enough time to have those made.

    Best of luck, and welcome.

Welcome from the other side of the pond.

    "6' 2" and 33" / 34" waist" Oh I wish. I can do the 200lbs though ......

Having googled RCMP Pipe Bands I think that would be a safe bet on getting kilted.

    Hope all goes well.

Your post doesn't say where in the country you are stationed but there are RCMP pipe bands in several regions so I would give them a try.
