Looking for my first kilt
I am looking for my first kilt for my wedding next March. I have started the research on my family history and found where our family name has changed the spelling about four times. Our family name was Mac Michael. I have found in our paperwork where it mentions the McMichaels of Lismore and Stewart of Appin, Galloway, and Marhar. This is making it difficult to figure out where we actually came from or started out. I did find what it says was our shield and pattern kilt, but who knows for sure. Anyway, it is great to be here and I will keep looking.

from Mississippi! Congratulations on the engagement and upcoming wedding. There are several companies who advertise here and all could get you a fantastic kilt for your wedding. I'm kind of jealous--I wanted to be kilted for my wedding but my wife nixed the idea--she wanted all the attention on her!

Welcome.
A full time hand sewn kiltmaker can help you find the tartan you want/need. Kathy Lare www.kathyskilts.com is next door to you in New Mexico. There are others too.
