Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts
The book you are using The Art of Kiltmaking's author Barbara Tewksbury is a regular of this forum in the D.I.Y. section, her screen name is Barb T. She is great on answering any questions posted there. If you follow the book closely, you should have an awesome work of art.

Welcome from a chilly Chicago...and you couldn't have a better guide to the kiltmaker's art than Barb's book.
