New to the group and kilts.

I just wnted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Jason and I'm in the US Navy (see user name) I am currently in Bahrain, next to Saudi Arabia, for a deployment, I'll be back in the states soon I can't wait . I only have 2 kilts that I made, no pictures here, one is a red and green "fasion tartan" of unknown content (read cheap). I bought about 8 yards to wear as a great kilt for a ren fair about 3 years ago, then about a year ago I cut it in half and pulled out the sewing machine. My wife was impressed that I made a kilt all by my self, while she was out of town for a week. I only wear it at and after Rugby games though 'cause It isn't perfect. Oh yea I made one for my son when he was one for the same faire, he handed that down to his brother, and I mad him a new one, he is 3 now.

The second is made from flanel (I don't recomend this, It's too thin and light) that I just wear around the house for cleaning an mowing etc.

When I get back I plan to make a couple x-kilts an buy one tartan kilt, leaning tward "Irish National" SWK standard. I will post pics of my home made kilts when I get back.

Welcome from Utah, and from an old Navy guy.
I retired as a OSCS and lived in Virginia Beach. Did my turn out at the Bahrain Bell too.
Good to have you aboard.
