New from Hawaii
Hallo all! Greetings from Hawaii - occasional lurker finally deciding to join and post!
I'm a poi-fed local haole from the Windward side (of Oahu), currently in Manoa... Been kilted (for special events mainly) since 2003, but have been interested in my Scots heritage since ... I don't actually remember since when, but definately since my teens... As a "European Mutt (north of Spain)", I found the Scots culture among the most interesting. Plus, of course, Scots got kilts! (Of course, Russians have those cool fur hats, and the Vikings got those nifty horned helmets... )
I currently own a Celtic Craft Centre kilt in the Hawaiian Tartan, and plan to get a Malcolm kilt in the future... After I get a SK in the HI Tartan. Wool is just too bloody HOT here in Hawaii!
Once I get a HI SK, I think I'll be kilted more often, despite the rolling eyeballs from the wife. Though she does admit that she likes how I look in it!
