Hullo all, and greetings from Exit 11
I'm new to the board, but definately not new to the Kilt. I've been a Piper for 40 years, and have been wearing the Kilt for just about as long. For the last 30 years or so I have been into Living History and Re-enactments. I started in the American Revolution, dabbled a bit in French and Indian, currently do WW2, and am just getting into the Napoleonic Era... and always as The Black Watch.
For those that might be interested, I just started the Scottish Living History and Re-enactor's Forum with the view towards getting a conversation going between those who portray Scottish impressions from all periods and groups. Hopefully we can share sources of both kit and information... and maybe even build a closer bond between all far-flung groups of Caledonian Historians.

Welcome to the neighborhood. I've no doubt our two communities can contribute to each other. We have several Reenactors and living history folks here.
I actually just discovered this weekend a group that does living history for the late 1700's at the park where I Mtn. Bike

They've mentioned they are in need of a blacksmith to run the forge they are building and they are willing to train. So I'm toying with this. To add blacksmithing to my skill set would be a nice thing.

Good on you for your work.
A long family mystery is where my 5 great grandfather Ludovic Macdonald served. He was born about 1750 and from Uig, Skye. Perfect age for the 76th Macdonald Highlanders in the Revolution.
Family lore is that he named my 4 great grandfather Gray Macdonald after an officer he served with and admired...just no clue where, when, who he served with.
So, do appreciate you bringing the era alive.
