New, and in New Hampshire

Hello one and all! My name's Josh, 35 married with two little girls. I grew up in a large extended family, all of whom are proud of our heritage. Life gets busy, jobs consume your time, and sometimes you forget important things. I find myself in just such a place.
The other day, my wife turns to me and says "why don't we go to the Highland Games? I know you don't have a kilt anymore (long, lousy story involving my first wife), but we should go."
I'm showing pictures to the girls and my youngest says "so Scottish is when boys dress like girls, right?"
I'd felt like a failure. I'd failed to give to my kids what my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles had given me.... A sense of belonging. A pride in where they came from.
So no more taking for granted. It's time to reclaim my heritage and share it with my family. Let there be games (may even compete some day), and kilts and food and music!
