    Newb in King, NC

My name is Ted Hamilton, of the Clan Hamilton. I suppose that's Rev. Ted so some, but I generally keep my clergy status in the background unless queried. I am a "newb" from King, NC (Near Winston-Salem). I found this board while looking for kilt patterns, and have just completed my first poly viscose hamilton hunting (modern) kilt in a bit over 12 hrs. It was an interesting experiment, having given up on the Simplicity pattern before starting, and kinda' winging it, pleating to sett and modifying taper on the fly for fit. I'll post pics when I get a digital camera. Anyhow, feel free to say hello, or not!

    ~Ted

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
    Congratulations on the kilt.
For future kiltmaking, try Barbara Tewksbury's The Art of Kiltmaking, it is a wonderful book with all that you need to know to make a great traditional kilt. There is also Alan H's X-kilt instructions on the D.I.Y. forum, where Barb T also posts her words of kiltmaking wisdom.

    Welcome.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
