    Talking Newbie from Kentucky

    Hello All ,

Well, as you can tell, I too am a . Sorry, couldn't resist it, LOL. Well, I'm a father of 2 wonderful boys. I have a wonderful wife of 13 years, whose family hails from Ireland and Wales. I am a proud member of the Clan MacKay Society of the USA. I have only become involved with my family's heritage and traditions this past year, even though my family immigrated from Scotland in the late 1600's and early 1700's .

I am proud of my family's heritage . Though I do not have a kilt yet, I am looking for one now. And, I didn't realize how many places there were that, sell kilts. Any advice one can offer, please feel free. There are 2 places I'm looking at buying my kilt from (Scotland House in Williamsburg, Virginia and, USA Kilts.com).

In my spare time, I cave. Yep! that’s right, I explore and survey the underground world . I am a member of the National Speleological Society (NSS) and, the Vice Chairman of a NSS local chapter. My wife and I have served many years as Scout leaders. I have recently stepped down as a one of our District's Commissioners; my wife is still a Roundtable Commissioner. Now, I'm focusing my time on my family. I am a student at 2 schools. I am almost finished with my Fire Science degree and, I have begun working on my Bachelor's in Geology (my 2nd degree). It’s something I've loved since I was a child. So, better late than never. I'm now pursuing that because of my wife. She has encouraged me to follow my passion. It was either that or, become a history teacher. As far as what I do for a pay check. Well, I am a firefighter and have been for over 18 years. My department seems to think that I'm qualified to be a leader so, they promoted me and put me in charge of an Engine Company (now that's scary).

WOW! I didn't mean to bore you so much
