A newbie oldie to the kilt scene

    Hi Everybody.
My name is Alwyn (welsh name, but I am not) and I am 59yo and about to be retired on a careers pension to look after my wife of some 30years who has developed dementia. Although I am Australian born and bred, I have always liked the Celtic Culture and Music. Some months ago my interest in wearing a kilt was hightened when I was at the Maldon Folk Festival here in Australia. I noticed a number of guys in kilts and was impressed at how well they were accepted in the community. Australia does not have the florishing kilt scene as in other countrys, so to get a kilt for myself I had to improvise. I have taken photos which show the result of my sewing machine abilities, and if I can work out now how to attach some photos, I will be sailing.

    Bye for now.
