A newly kilted newbie from S Florida

Hi all, I just finished my first x-kilt. A special thanks to Alan H for taking the time to write the whole process down. First time using a sewing machine(borrowed) and I think the kilt came out very good. Same principal as woodworking in my opinion. My wife's measurements to my knee were extra generous. It is too long, but I'm still happy with it. What do you think? Leave it or Hem it.

Welcome from Michigan! You could always slide the kilt up a bit.

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
Great job on the kilt. If possible, I would slide it up a little.

from Chicago. I concur with the advice above to pull the kilt up a bit. Traditional kilts generally ride 2-3 inches above the navel. So, pulling the kilt up so that it just hits the top of the knee will not make it look "funny" at the waist. It just takes a bit of time to get used to if you've been used to wearing your pants low. BTW, good work on your kilt-making.
