Old new guy from Ohio
Since many Google searches keep bringing me here, I decided to join the party. First off, my sincere thanks to those who have shared such a tremendous body of expertise so freely.
I am new to kilt-wearing, and have found the answers to many of my questions here. I have also read "So You're Going to Wear the Kilt" and "The Art of Kiltmaking" and found them to be very helpful as well.
My brother has taken up the pipes, and I am in the process of putting together an outfit so that I can accompany him with a drum.
First kilt will be a poly/vis Scottish National military pleat from Rocky at USA. I've crafted my first day sporran of otter and dark brown oiled leather and have 3 others in the works (not all for me).
Also about to make the first cut on a tweed sport coat/Argyll conversion.
Enough for now. Thanks again to all.

Good for you. Welcome from the highlands of Central Massachusetts. Stay near those pipes. You won't regret it.
