Welcome Randy! (and is that your real name, or just how your feeling not that you own a kilt or 2?)

And the only excuse you need to buy more stuff is that you are a man wearing a kilt and want to look your best! No SO yet has been able to refute that argument!

    Randy is both.

I asked my wife to support me I the style I wish to become accustomed to, alas not yet.

I have a ?tank? the real kilt for out and about and light hiking on paths that will not muck it up. Hot weather treachous trails a Mountain Hardwear kilt.

I do need a nice jacket and a less pricey washable kilt. The colors are so bright and shiny it would be a shame to trash the good kilt.

Welcome and enjoy. I'm sure there are many very nice, relatively inexpensive washable kilts available - (I'm wearing one).

    Nice to have you aboard.

Thank you for the welcome everyone.

What is the lowest comfortable temperature for kilt wearing?
I will do shorts til 55F, so far my good kilt has been out down to 45F no problems. But this weekend is forecast for 24/25F what do you think

What kind of casaul kilt are you wearing?

I spent a large part of the day outside shopping today and it was only 28 degrees F for the high. I was quite toasty with a tweed daywear jacket, wool Tank and wool socks, oh and a wool Inverness Cape. In fact, I was sweating under all that. I should have worn either the daywear or the cape but not both.
