Help me find a 36" waist contemporary kilt for my dad
So, my dad's birthday is coming up soon (Aug. 16) and he has recently surprised me by expressing interest in a "utility kilt" (his description). He has a 36" waist, and says he thinks one would be cool to wear, and he likes olive green.
Now, I have no idea how often he's actually going to wear it, or where the motivation is suddenly coming from -- or why he doesn't want a traditional tartan kilt made by his own son. :-)
But the heart wants what it wants, no?
So, if he in fact is really going to enjoy wearing it and get a lot of use out of it, my preference would be to buy him a really nice RKilt or one of the Freedom Kilt models, over a Utilikilt.
However, since I don't know how serious he actually is, and I know there is no way I'm going to get anything custom made before Aug. 16 anyway, I thought I'd cast my nets before the rabble here and see if anyone doesn't have a 36" waist contemporary style kilt, preferably in an olive green or something close, that they would not mind selling to make an old man happy.
PM me with details!

Matt,
I just happen to have an Olive Drab FK hanging on my rack.
The fabric is our 65%/35% Poly/Cotton.
It is a Casual Model with 1" wide pleats.
Waist is 35.5"
Hip is 38.5"
Fell is 6"
Drop is 20.25"
Slope is -1.25front and +.5 rear.
this kilt has 2 Side Slash Pockets
2 detachable Side Cargo Pockets
An Under-Apron Pocket
Star Buttons & Bronze Snaps
3" Beltloops
This is a brand new, never been worn kilt.
PM or email me with an offer if you are interested.

Brooke: UT kilts is Brice Lithgow, I am not sure what his name on this board. Brice is a good guy so I would not worry about the vendor. http://www.utkilts.com/ brice@utkilts.com

Steven,
Thanks for the offer! My one concern about that kilt is the length. My dad's about 6 feet tall, just a bit shorter than I am, so I am inclined to think 20.25" is too short. However, if your casual model Freedom kilts are designed to sit lower on the waist, that may work better than I imagine. What say you?

However, I'd like to see what Steve says about the length of his casual model kilt before I decide; I always like to give fellow X Markers preference.
I'll keep your link handy just in case, though!

What if his own son made him an Xkilt? Still the utility style he's looking for AND you get to make it!
