MacDonald Clan modern tartan 1 yard wanted
An acquaintance is looking for a yard or so of MacDonald modern tartan. His father wants to put a piece of tartan over the caps of his jars of honey, so it can be in pieces.
Just thought I'd ask here first, in case someone has a piece to sell that is too small for them to use.
The family name is Ranald.
Thanks Tess

I see short yardage pieces come up quite often on Ebay Tess, I'll keep my eye out for some MacDonald for you.

Jeez, maybe I've finally found a use for my Macdonald tartan SportKilt pleated to the gather...
You can also buy a long strip of tartan from SportKilt its more than a scarf - maybe a sash, not sure what they call it. Comes in Macdonald tartan. Not too expensive - I don't think...
Okay its at http://www.sportkilt.com/product/180...rish-Sash.html comes in Macdonald and is $29.50 All Polyesther - that may be good for the intended use. Says 11" x 90" guess you could divide jar lids into that.

Thanks Brooke. Great idea about ebay.
And Ron, thank you for the site. I will forward it to the gentleman (who probably is close to being overwhelmed with tartan ideas I have sent in the last 24 hours) hee hee
What is "Pleated to the gather"????

Pleated to the gather means that there are no pleats in the back - the material is just gathered. Common with SportKilts back when...and who knew then?

I've got a couple dozen cutaways of MacDonald of Clanranald Modern at home from the kilts I've just sewn that I could send. It's not a full piece, but they should each cover a jar lid.
