    Montrose Doublet

Does anyone know of a good place to get a Montrose Doublet? I will be happy to buy one if someone here has one for sale. Black wool or velvet, size 38 regular.

    Thank you everyone!

    Re: Montrose Doublet

I got my Montrose on ebay, a few years ago. The benefit of that was that I was able to get a quality Montrose Doublet with silver buttons at a fraction of the price that I could find elsewhere.

I am very happy with the doublet and wear it to any and all appropriate venues. If I were to purchase one brand new I would look to Kinloch Anderson

or perhaps you could get in touch with the Scottish Tartan Museum, I know they had them on the website at one point.

Forum sponsor buyakilt.com (link at the top banner) also has them for sale.

    KT,
I may have just the thing for you. I had one custom made for me - black velvet, silver buttons, NOT double breasted but with traditional kilt flaps on the bottom of the doublet, lace cuffs and jabo (sp). Since I had it made I have spent a bunch of time in the weight room and it no longer fits. when I had it taylored I was pretty lean in chest and shoulders...so , how much do you weigh?
