I could use a good pair in size 12 too, so let me know if you find a good deal.

We carry them as stock. They're $45. White buttons and 'hidden velcro' closure.

I'm trying to avoid the Velcro but it seems like it might be my only choice in my price range.

My understanding is that, for some time, UK military spats have had velcro closures. The buttons, I believe, are for show only. The older buttoned style required a button hook to button the spats. This, of course, was very time consuming and more to the point awkward as they were buttoned at the back or to the rear.

    Regards

I'm happy with the velcro kind. They have the top and bottom buttoned which ensure the firm closure and good look. Here's a picture of my colorguard (I'm on the left) wearing the velcro type.

JHiggins has the best, simply because they have different ankle sizes as well. This eliminates that weird Velcro peel near the top for spats that are too tight at the ankle.
