If you or someone you know has a pair of gently used US size 12D Ghillie Brogues in black, I am looking for a pair for Mark. There are some rubber ones online, but I am hoping to find a nicer used pair that someone no longer needs. English size 11.5 is evidently the equivalent size. Thanks! --Marks Mom

I believe you are putting together a formal outfit for your son, correct?

You and he would probably be better served by going with a pair of black, cap-toe, oxfords and putting a good shine on them. They are perfectly acceptable with Highland attire and can also be worn with a Saxon suit or tuxedo.

I have a pair of Black Endrick ghillie brogues that I think may fill the bill, that I would be happy to donate to "the cause". I got them second hand from Rocky of USAKilts whose brother I believe wore them for his wedding, and then never again. They have a couple minor scuffs on them but nothing that probably wouldn't go away with a good polishing. Although they are marked UK size 12, which should be equivalent to a US size 13, they are too small for my definitely size 13 feet, especially with kilt hose on. Considering that Mark will be wearing kilt hose rather than regular dress hose they should work well for a size 11-12 US. PM me your full Name and Address and I will have them in the mail to you early next week. Gratis. Enjoy them. And take lots of pictures. And post some of them here. My only condition.
