[WANTED] Sgian Brew
I haven't ever carried a blade on my person as I have yet to find myself in a situation that necessitates it. I have been looking around and have found plenty of exceptional pieces that unfortunately come with a premium price tag. USA Kilts offers an inexpensive option that looks like a quality product. I am wondering if anyone here has something at a reasonable price or other suggestions about where to look.
Cheers,
-J

These are very expensive. I tried making one from a small stag horn which was not too bad. I also purchased a wooden handle opener and am in the process of smoothing and polishing the handle before I paint it gloss black and find some sort of "cap" for the top.
I intend to live forever. So far so good. (Warning :- Contains alcohol and nuts)

That is precisely the high quality/price piece that I am trying to avoid. I like your idea of smoothing down and polishing a wooden handle one and making it myself. I'm thinking something like this might be good to start with.

There is always this one too...Not too sure I like the gloss finish on the stag handle. It makes it look a little too much like plastic.

I just wear a Swiss Army Knife-officer in my hose. But I like being different and the extra tools.

You _could_ buy just the metal piece from Rab Gordon (Loch Ness Origins, linked above) for $12.80.
A 4-6" piece of grade A moose antler wth natural tip would be about $6.00.
One of those will be plus shipping from Scotland, the other will be plus shipping from Alaska.
$3 for epoxy from Lowes-Depot, a couple minutes with a drill, you may or may not want to make a sheath for it.
$30 for the first one is looking like a good deal, although Dale's bottle opener idea is looking promising.
