    Belts

    Bear,

I was wondering how wide the belts that you sell from Rudi are. Are they 3", or smaller? I'm looking for 1 1/2", and those are some great looking belts.

    Rufus,
My belts are exactly 1 1/2" wide. Rudi makes wider belts but I like these. And the buckle design is cool.

Nuts! I just measured, and found that my belt loops are acutally 2" wide. I'm debating between a 2" and the 1 1/2" belt.

I noticed that Rudi offered a few different designs on his site. Which one is it that you offer? The St. Gall design closely matches a thick celtic bracelet that I have.

Also, I was wondering if yours are the pewter or the antique pewter buckles.

And finally, an apology for all the questions.

    Rufus,

I have the St.Gall design in black, and the Lichfield in dark brown. I would suggest the Lichfield (which is the one Bear carries) over the St.Gall. It seems to have a lot more deatil, and looks great with a kilt. The St.Gall loses some of it's detail (especially in black). These are great belts, and I would suggest them to anyone. The 1 1/2 width is nice shorter than a usual kilt belt, but the belts go really well in a casual and formal setting.

Thanks Colin! I appreciate your input. It's good to know that the detail gets lost on the St. Gall in black, and it was a toss-up between st. Gall and Lichfield. Looks like Lichfield it is.

Does anyone here know what site they're talking about [referring to Rudi]? Thanks!

The obscure we see eventually. The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer.

Yes, I second that. We want to look at and buy pretty belts as well!

That site has some very interesting articles, especially the 200 year old leather, very expensive, but lovely!
