These are my favorite boots to wear with my kilt. Granted, they dont go with all of my kilts, but they look really good with a Royal Stewart and a Hunting Stewart.

They are from Son of Sandlar, and although pricey, they really cant be beat in terms of quality and functionality. I really love the brass "life Tree" buttons.
I cant wait to see what they will look like with my Edzell.

Cushioning? What?
Lugs? BAH!
Zipper? Huh?
Leather, rubber, nails, thread. All killer, no filler.
For daily wear, same thing, only black, lugged, & zippered:
Got both in 2002. Black ones resoled once, Brown going strong.
The black pair looks something like what I was issued back in 1967, I have a brand new pair that I left the Army with. Going to look into digging them out, mine do not have the zipper.

I braved the snow at the house of bruar on the A9 in Perthshire yesterday to get some smoked venison.
In there I saw some rich oxblood, heavily pebbled brogue boots, about 8inches high lacing to eyelets then hooks. Thems the babies I fancy with my kilt.

I have these Docs in kelly and they go nicely with my ancient Mackay.

I like these too, but it seems from the website that they're only available in women's sizes.

Yes I know that a UK8 is equivalent to a US men's 9 or a US woman's 10 but they seemed quite narrow when I saw them IRL
