    CCK Maple Leaf kilt

Well I told Pete that I would post pictures of the Maple Leaf kilt and post a review. So here we go. I went up to Fergus on Thursday to pick up my kilt from MacHummel, (Pete from Canadian Casual Kilts) and we had a good little visit, after I had tried on the new kilt, well let me tell you it fits wonderfully, there is a definite weight to the kilt and it hangs very nicely, the pleats have a good swing to them and you really know you are wearing a well made kilt when you strap this on. So far I have received nothing but compliments on it, as everyone else so far has posted pictures of the maple leaf and the SOKS t-shirt together, I thought I would be a wee bit different and go the other way, so here is a formal Maple Leaf:

Here is a close up of the wonderful fringe that Peter puts on the kilt:

I have to say that I am very impressed with the work that Peter did on this kilt, it is about as good as it gets for a contemporary kilt maker, and Peter is a wonderful guy to deal with. I would not, and will not hesitate to get Peter to make up another kilt for me, he is like a lot of other kilt makers a real gentleman, how many kilt makers invite you to dinner when you go to get measured for a kilt?

The real test I think with a kilt like this that is not wool is can you pass it off well I was able to today in my Prince Charlie in a room full of Scots all I heard was what a lovely Tartan, and it truly is from the special order all the way down to receiving this kilt it has been a great ride.

Thanks again Peter for an outstanding kilt.

Wow! The colors in that tartan are beautiful. It makes an exceptionally classy looking kilt.

That is nice Glen, I've got to get me one of those... Oh wait I already have one. It took mine about 5 months to get, you? About 5 days! This is so unfair. I must say that Glens photos are about the closest to showing the rich colours that are (except the last one). For those that are contemplating a Maple Leaf i'd hurry as I think MacHummels stock is fast depleating.
