Durakilt
Just came across this website: http://www.durakilt.com
The kilt itself doesn't seem that different from others on the market (canvas/camo semi-traditional) but I thought the maker had some interesting ideas such as detachable pockets, and grommets for kilt pin placement.
Looks like they are still in their development stage, anyone ever encounter one in real life?

Yes, I saw a couple of his kilts at Grandfther Mt. this year. Garner Stewart has an interesting approach - he makes the kilt and sends it to you. If you like it you pay him, or you send it back. I didn't get a chance for a close inspection but the owner was very happy with them. Garner is a Grad student (i think) in Fredericksburg VA. He does hae some interesting ideas in construction and closure.

The "kilt pin grommets" really sound like an excellent idea.

That looks really cool.
One particularly innovative element that I note is their use of a D-ring belt; I've been using one for this purpose ever since I got my first kilt (a MacLaren SportKilt).
All in all, however, I think I'll save up and get a Survival Utilikilt.

They look pretty nice you can get 1" pleats and cargo pockets that come off I like them

Very interesting product. A casual kilt with more traditional styling. Also I like his side pockets so much more than any of the Utilikilt style attached cargo pockets.
Disclaimer - I have been tried and convicted as a "Kilt Snob" so please be aware any statement I make may be biased towards tradition and good taste. LOL

Thank you for posting the link to Durakilt.
If anyone out there orders a Durakilt, I'm sure I won't be the only one eager to read a review {don't forget the pictures!}. I'm particularly interested in comparing it with Amerikilt {kilt #3, just received}, and the Canadian Casual Kilt {should be arriving shortly}, and the various Freedom kilts {haven't decided WHICH one to order, but it's in the budget for next spring!}.
