Ok, the vest picture is gone, so that is answered.
So--to redirect it, I'm leaving the corduroy jacket to see how that works with the Buzz Kidder kilt.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Alright then, let's move the vest picture to this post so they're not together.
It's probably distracting anyway.
Thanks.

Wow, that really is quite the blue vest!
Nobody will mistake you for someone else in that thing!

Like the jacket. Not so sure about the blue vest. Interesting kilt pin. What is it exactly?

What is that kilt pin?
Is that a new kilt?
Any info on the kilt maker/construction?

Ok. The kilt pin, and I understand that it was not aranged well, is a swatch of my tartan with an associated pin on it. It will need to be trimmed and made into a bonnet flash, but I was so happy to have a swatch of my tartan that I wanted to wear it. I had recieved the letter with the swatches from Mein, right before the picture because the person delivering it also took the pictures.
Here's a close up shot

The kilt is a kakhi canvas Buzz Kidder that I have had for quite a while now. It's the only solid color kilt I have.
The pleat edges are sewn in and it is constructed a little bit like a five yard casual kilt. I wish the fell was sewn down a bit further.
The Scottish Tartans Museum sells, or used to sell them.

Ok, Picture gone. I was just told it was blue and that was the first and last time I will be wearing it.
I do need to learn how to make the tartan swatch into a bonnet flash of some sort.
Here's a less distracting picture of me holding a couple of walking sticks I am working on.

I guess this thread was a catastrophe.
One person did comment on the corduroy jacket with the BZK kilt, thanks. The kilt pin was noticed, though that wasn't aranged so well.
Sometimes I don't know until I post the pictures, and I've had plenty of disasters...

I would not call it a disaster, I would say you learned others opinion about your presentation. It's a learning experience, and you grow. Overall, I would say you had a good look, and with a couple minor changes you will get what you are after. If you took a piece of that tartan and wore it as a scarf, used the bear claw as a kilt pin, matched with the jacket, you can probably get the results you desire. It's just my opinion, for all it's worth.
