    A few Amerikilts on Ebay

I noticed that there are some black and olive Amerikilts up for auction on eBay. They are $68 for starting bids. Wish I had waited awhile before buying mine because they sell for $98 on the Amerikilt website. I have 6 AKs that I wear during the really hot and humid summer days. They do wrinkle easy because of the cotton material, but they are lightweight and comfortable. Type "american kilt" in the search field at Ebay.

I did a little customizing on mine. Found some clan crest sewn on patches in the shape of a shield with the clan crest tartan as a background. they are sewn on in the bottom corner of the top apron wear you would normally put a kilt pin. I also added a Rampant Lion sewn on patch in the shape of a shield so that it is offset with the clan crest patch.

That's me also. My first kilt was an AK. I have two standards and another two that I custom ordered without any snap closures.

Makes me long for spring. Current temperature here is 14F (-10C).

What a coincidence! My first kilt is also an AK which I love in hot weather but would not consider wearing outside today; BWI reports 14°F with wind chill -1.5°F.

Do the language laws in Quebec really require you to hire a mime who doesn't speak French if you hire one who doesn't speak English? Could a mime who doesn't speak either fill both roles at the same time? (Thanks to Calvin Trillin.)

Oops! Right now BWI is reporting Temperature: 3°F, Wind Speed: 0 MPH, Wind Chill: 37.6°F. I can understand Wind Speed: 0 MPH but how Wind Chill can be nearly 35°F higher than ambient temperature defeats me.

Maybe I need to abandon my preconceptions or to find a more credible authority.

My first kilt was an AK. I like the lightweight, goes very well in the summer time heat/humidity.

I shut my eyes and turn’d them on my heart.
As a man calls for wine before he fights,
I ask’d one draught of earlier, happier sights,
Ere fitly I could hope to play my part.

I just got my second AK tonight. I love the things! I need to get an olive next.
