    Kilted in Albuquerque

Just spent the last five days kilted out and about in Albuquerque.

Wore UK workman's, survivals, and denim for most of the trip. Wore my RKilt saffron leather to the banquet last night (main deal was a reunion of my late father's War 2 fighter group).

I got the usual questions but also a LOT of sincere interest and I handed out a lot of cards and website addys.

Was also able to get to the Albuquerque Pridefest for a while yesterday (I'm straight but a strong PFLAG supporter). I was the only one kilted, but at least a half a dozen people called my survival what it was, a Utilikilt. So there was strong recognition. There was no UK booth there but I'd guess they'd have sold a bunch to the crowd if they were.

One guy cracked me up. He wore a skirt made from old neckties. Probably the wildest MUG I've seen to date.

The drive is over six hours so it sure was a treat to drive kilted.

Also got to visit Kathy Lare of Kathy's Kilts but that's over on the Traditional forum.

Sounds like fun Ron. I always have enjoyed Albuquerque, such a neat town.

Glad things went well for you Ron, Albuquerque is not one of my favorite towns, had a few close encounters in the pre-kilt days that have clouded my thinking Stupidity on both sides, unfortunately people have long memories.
