Leather UK arrives - wrong color.....??

At least I thought I ordered black. I intended to order black. I emailed Otto about my black leather UK.

So it was a surprise to open the box and find a brown leather UK inside. Called the factory and the girl there says I ordered brown and should have had a confirmation. I've ordered six UKs and never had a confirmation on any of the orders...might be a good idea for situations like this.

So, now I gotta decide what to do. Keep the brown and wait until my plastic cools down to order a black.

Kind of dissappointing since I had gone out and bought two pair of black boots and a black leather jacket to go with the black leather kilt.

I do have brown boots and a brown leather jacket to go with the brown if I keep it. Its beautiful, it fits, feels great, smells great.

Then there's all the postage hassles and another jones to endure. Damn, what a dilemna.

Lady said she email Otto. I did that too and told him I'd think it over and decide what I want to do, if anything, by Monday.

Afraid to wear it until I decide.

    Any suggestions, thoughts welcome.

Coyote is sure all over my ass on this one.

    Thanks,
    Ron

I probably would have ordered the brown to begin with, because I thought the ones I saw looked very cool, so I would be happy with it. Plus, I think a brown kilt with black accessories might make an interesting contrast. But its your money and your preference.

The brown looks stunning and I would have ordered one if they didn't have all that fussy lacing down the sides! My black leather UK doesn't have that - the lacing was introduced later.

Since you have bought the 'accessories' in black, I don't know how to advise you. I really think that if you wore black with brown it might look as though you had dressed in a hurry and hadn't bothered to check in a mirror!!

Doesn't Utilkilts operate a scheme whereby you can exchange kilts? Since this one is brand new and unworn, it might be worth investigating.

Anyway, Ron, welcome to the wonderful world of leather kilts - they are totally unlike anything else I've ever experienced ....... and that's saying something!

Thanks Ham, shades of George Gobel's joke about being a pair of brown shoes with a tuxedo.

Looking at the lacing, its actually two seperate sets on each side. A high set and a low set. And the way they lace it is like nothing I've ever seen before...no instructions either...looks like a learning curve whether I keep the brown or exchange for black...

I'm sure Utiliilts would swap it for a black kilt.
Or, you could post your sizes here. Maybe someone will make you an offer?

Its starting to eat at me...its a pretty dark brown, the same color as my grandfather's 100 year old semi-pro baseball mit and my father's WWII A2 Army Air Corps jacket he wore flying P-39s in North Africa.

And it smells sooooo good...and its sooooo soft....

As a businessman, all I can say is that I think all orders and confirmation should be in writing with notes taken on dates and names of people I order from.

Whenever I fail to do this, it often goes pear-shaped.

I also agree that if I were to order a leather kilt, it would be brown.
I look forward to seeing it!

    Think you're right Blu....

Did put it on to take some pics for you guys...hard to find those pics of brown leather UK kilts.

Did something I've NEVER done before...donned a pair of boxer shorts first...figure if I do wind up exchanging it I should keep it very sanitary

Didn't mess with the lacings to size it either so its kinda funny looking in the "hang" probably...

Should get the pics developed tomorrow.

Think its becoming a matter of having something right here that I can smell and touch slowly erasing seven weeks of jonesing for the black one...its also scary that I know if I keep this brown one I'll be back for a black one eventually.
